The question is here, Anti-Supporter, you state in another post that "If I could move, I would move!" And then, your very next sentence is "As of right now, I have no intention of leaving!" That is a derogatory statement. You are pretty much telling everyone in the first sentence that you do not like it here in Knightstown, and then the very next statement claims you have no intention of leaving. Therefore, that tells us that you are content with where you are or just confused about what you want to do? Let's get the facts straight here, are you content or not? ACTUALLY-Let's get back to the main concern of these ongoing post- We are debating whether or not our police department is corrupt and lying! The beginning statement, posted by Ms. Hinshaw, as you are currently defending, does have quite a few replies from others. Perhaps you need to make sure to read each and every comment!

I do not have a Master's Degree in Spelling, especially since it isn't offered at any institute of higher learning that I have ever heard of. I do, however, have a basic understanding and command of the English language and I would suggest that you at least proof read your posts before actually posting them. I have no intention of leaving Knightstown, I love it here! Why don't you move? After all, you are the "anti-supporter of Ktown" and obviously very unhappy here.

I have been reading these posting for several days now and I am really surpised at some of the things that I am reading. First of all isn't the moto of Knightstown "Nice place to visit, Better place to live"? If this is true first of all why is enrollment in the school district down and everywhere I go I see for sale signs. Then someone has an opinion and everyone want to beat them up. The last time I talked with anyone this was a free country and freedom of speech was one of our rights. From what I see as long as everyone agrees with the so called good old boy network then things are alright. But I have heard several people talk about how unhappy they are about the town counsel and school board. Now we have to have an agenda turned in before the meeting so they can control what is being discussed at our public meetings. As well as how long we can talk about it. But they can have closed door discussion and not even let any of the people know what it is about. Last time I remember we elected these people to speak for us not at us. As for the police department. There is alot of room for improvement. We have a bar that sits next door to the police station and I know that the dispatcher can see people leaving that have no business being on the road. But not a thing is done with the regulars. But be from out of town and watch what kind of treatment that you receive. They also have people that they know that get drunk and become a danger to themselves but because they help the police department out they are left alone. They will tell you themselves to go ahead and call the police because they won't do anything to me we are tight. I have heard this on two different occasions. We have also had I believe 7 chief in 6 years or something like that. Then I understand that one of the people that are responding to these postings is going to be a police officer in the near future and he's making comments like. Make sure you stay sober or something along those lines. I thought that a police officer was trained to not let emotion get in the way of his clear thinking. I see a side that I am worried about. The other thing I see is a lot of screen names but no real names. If you believe in what you have to say then post your name. Remember everyone has an opinion and just because it doesn't agree with yours doesn't mean that it is not true. We talk about how friendly this town is suppose to be but if your are out of the loop watch out it turns into a witch hunt. The comment about look in the mirror. I see several in the message board that need to look in the mirror and practice what you preach. It is just like going to church on Sunday and start sinning all over again on Monday. I also feel like a lot of the town issues are decided at the Church or the Corner Bakery. This part of the town reminds me of Mayberry USA. There is only one other place that I have seen like this and that is Shelbyville. We do not need to turn into another Shelbyville.

I have asked several times for specific information regarding these issues, as neither I nor my family have had any problems with either the police or town board, thank you very much for being specific about your concerns. I am appalled at the idea of allowing intoxicated people drive, although to be honest I really didn't even know we had a bar here.....I've seen the liquor store though. If this is really going on, then we should absolutely do something about it.

I highly doubt that the intoxicated people are allowed to drive away freely- If I can speak my peace here, I've seen with my own two eyes here, on numerous occasions, officers around the bar either breaking up the regular bar fights or taking intoxicated individuals to jail. Maybe this is just because I live not too far from the bar and see this going on on a normal basis.

you can doubt it all u want to.. i have seen it on SEVERAL occassions with my own two eyes... i call it picking and choosing who they take to jail and who they dont.... this certain person (lets call them snitch for reference purposes) drives away almost nightly and because when something happens in that bar they run over to the police station to let them know.. they never get pulled over.. and i KNOW that this person is intoxicated... once again.. i refer to the "good ole boy network" depends on who you are..
